Argus Building

The Argus Building, located at the intersection of La Trobe and Elizabeth streets in Melbourne, is a historic site that served as the headquarters for The Argus newspaper from 1926 to 1956. Recognized by the National Trust and listed on the Victorian Heritage Register, it is considered one of Australia's top ten endangered heritage buildings. Originally developed to support a large newspaper operation, the building has undergone various transformations, including its acquisition by La Trobe University in 2004 and subsequent sale to the Melbourne Institute of Technology in 2010. Today, it functions as a vibrant educational campus, blending historical significance with modern academic use.
