Candlestick Park (former stadium site)

Candlestick Park opened in 1960 on the southeast waterfront of San Francisco and served as the home stadium for the NFL's San Francisco 49ers and MLB's San Francisco Giants for portions of their histories. The venue hosted Super Bowl XVI and Super Bowl XIX, numerous concerts, and civic events before being permanently closed and demolished in 2015–2016. The site and the stadium's history are frequently referenced in accounts of San Francisco's sports and entertainment heritage.
