Alexander's School

Alexander's School, located at 94 Duke Street in Glasgow, was established in 1858 by James Alexander to educate local children. Designed by John Burnet in an impressive Italianate style, the building features carvings of notable figures such as Homer and Shakespeare. Originally known as Alexander's Endowed School, it transitioned to a state school in 1872 and later became part of St Mungo's Academy. The building is a category A listed structure, recognized for its historical significance, and underwent extensive renovations in 2000 to become The Ladywell Business Centre, supporting local businesses.
