James Turner House

The James Turner House, located at 406 South Washington Avenue in Marshall, Texas, is a historic one-story Greek Revival style building originally built in 1851 by merchant George Gammon Gregg. The house has a rich history, having been owned by James Turner, a former Confederate soldier and mayor of Marshall, who expanded the home for his large family. Notably, the house features Victorian columns added by Turner's son in 1890. After a period of disrepair, it was restored in 1977 by Turner's granddaughter.
