Old North Church (Christ Church in the City of Boston)

Old North Church, built in 1723, is the oldest standing church building in Boston and a central landmark of the North End neighborhood. On the night of April 18, 1775, lanterns were displayed in its steeple to signal British troop movements-a signal associated with Paul Revere's ride to warn colonial militias. The church now interprets and preserves the site as part of Boston's Revolutionary-era history.
