Indiana Historical Society – Native American collections and research

The Indiana Historical Society in Indianapolis holds archival collections, manuscripts, maps, and photographs related to Indigenous peoples and histories of Indiana, including treaty documents and records of interactions between Native nations and state authorities. Its William Henry Smith Memorial Library supports research on Native American history in the region and provides access to primary-source materials for scholars and the public. The IHS also mounts exhibits and public programs that address Indigenous topics and regional tribal histories.
