George Washington Carver Museum & Cultural Center

The George Washington Carver Museum & Cultural Center opened in 1987 and is dedicated to preserving and interpreting African American history and culture in Austin and Central Texas. Located in the Rosewood neighborhood, the museum houses rotating and permanent exhibits, archival materials, and community programs. It occupies a site that serves as a focal point for local Black heritage and public cultural programming.
