Round Foundry

The Round Foundry, located in Holbeck, Leeds, is a historic engineering site established between 1795 and 1797, known for its role in the development of textile machinery and steam engines, including the first locomotives for the Middleton Railway. After a devastating fire in 1875, the site underwent significant redevelopment, culminating in the creation of the Round Foundry Media Centre in 2005, which now houses creative and digital media companies, alongside restaurants and cafés. The site retains several listed buildings, showcasing its architectural heritage and has received multiple awards for its innovative redevelopment.
