McFarlin Memorial Auditorium

McFarlin Memorial Auditorium, located on the Southern Methodist University campus, is a historic proscenium style theatre that seats 2,386 people across three levels. Opened in 1926, it was built to serve as a chapel and auditorium for the university community, thanks to a donation from businessman Robert M. McFarlin. The venue has hosted a diverse array of notable speakers, including Winston Churchill and Martin Luther King Jr., as well as legendary performers like Elton John and The Grateful Dead. The auditorium has undergone recent renovations to preserve its historic charm while enhancing its technological capabilities, making it a vibrant hub for cultural events in Dallas.
