Fetta di Polenta

Casa Scaccabarozzi, known as Fetta di Polenta, is a unique historic building in Turin's Vanchiglia neighborhood, notable for its strikingly narrow trapezoidal shape, measuring just 54 centimeters at its narrowest point. Designed by renowned architect Alessandro Antonelli in the 1840s, the building showcases his innovative approach to maximizing space by building upwards. It features nine floors, eclectic neoclassical façades, and a rich history, including its use as a meeting place for revolutionaries. The building has survived significant historical events, including an explosion and an earthquake, and has undergone various restorations, maintaining its status as a protected architectural heritage site.
