Graybar Electric Company Building

The Graybar Electric Company Building, located at 55 West Canfield Street in Midtown Detroit, Michigan, is a historic site listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1997. Constructed in 1926, this three-story industrial-style building served as a warehouse and office space for the Graybar Electric Company, a leading wholesaler of electrical supplies. The building features a symmetrical brick facade with distinctive architectural elements, including brick piers and cast stone details. After its use by Graybar into the 1940s, it was repurposed by the Detroit Board of Education and later transformed into loft space in 2000, making it a notable landmark for both tourists and researchers interested in Detroit's industrial history.
