Xanzad Castle

Xanzad Castle, also known as Khanzad or Banaman Castle, is a striking medieval fortress located just 22 kilometers east of Erbil in the autonomous region of Kurdistan, Iraq. Built in the late 16th century by Mir Xanzad, the ruler of the Soran Emirate, this impressive structure stands 40 meters high and features two well-preserved floors made of stone and gypsum.
