30th Street Station (Beaux-Arts railroad terminal)

Opened in 1933, 30th Street Station is a monumental Beaux-Arts railroad terminal that became the Pennsylvania Railroad’s principal intercity station in Philadelphia. The station’s classical façade, vaulted concourse, and monumental scale exemplify early 20th-century civic and transportation architecture intended to convey permanence and grandeur. It remains a major rail hub for Amtrak and regional rail services while being architecturally significant as one of the nation’s prominent historic train stations. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
