Empower Field at Mile High replaces Mile High Stadium

Empower Field at Mile High opened in 2001 as the Denver Broncos' new home stadium, replacing the original Mile High Stadium. The venue has been known under sponsored names including Invesco Field at Mile High and Sports Authority Field at Mile High. Broncos regular-season and postseason home games have been played there since the 2001 NFL season. The new stadium was constructed on the same general site as the previous Mile High complex.
