Eskilstuna House

Eskilstuna House, once a royal palace in Södermanland County, Sweden, was built in the 16th century on the site of a medieval monastery. It served as a royal residence for King Gustav I and his descendants, witnessing significant historical events, including the birth of Duke John's daughter and the rebellion against King Eric XIV. The Renaissance-style palace, completed in the early 17th century, featured impressive architecture but was largely destroyed by a fire in 1680. Today, remnants of its foundations can be found in a cemetery on the site, alongside a school named after the palace, making it a point of interest for both tourists and researchers exploring Sweden's royal history.
