Waldo Hotel

The Waldo Hotel, located in Clarksburg, West Virginia, was constructed between 1901 and 1904 by Nathan Goff Jr., a prominent local figure. Designed in the Beaux-Arts style by architect Harrison Albright, the hotel featured luxurious amenities and served as a social hub for the community. With its grand lobby, opulent guest rooms, and a ballroom, it was a symbol of the city's growth during the coal boom. Although it closed as a hotel in 1962 due to economic changes, it later housed Salem College and is now owned by the Vandalia Heritage Foundation, which focuses on historic preservation. The hotel remains a significant landmark in Clarksburg's history.
