Lt. Joseph P. Kennedy Jr. Memorial Skating Rink

The Lt. Joseph P. Kennedy Jr. Memorial Skating Rink in Barnstable, Massachusetts, was a historic ice skating venue that opened in 1957, named after the late Joseph P. Kennedy Jr. It served as both a public skating rink and a home for Barnstable High School's ice hockey team. The rink was notable for being the second largest in the northeastern U.S. at its peak and underwent several modifications, including enclosure in 1965. After 52 years of operation, it closed in 2009 and was replaced by the Hyannis Youth and Community Center, which continues to honor Kennedy's legacy with one of its rinks named after him.
