Pewabic Pottery (studio and tileworks)

Founded in 1903 by Mary Chase Perry Stratton and Horace Caulkins, Pewabic Pottery operates as a working pottery studio, school, and gallery. The studio is renowned for its distinctive iridescent glazes and ceramic tiles that were used in notable Detroit buildings and churches. Pewabic continues to produce tiles for architectural projects and public art throughout the region.
