McBride Ranch House

The McBride Ranch House, located in Amarillo, Texas, is a historic site built in 1904 by rancher David Nichols McBride. Constructed from mortared dolomite, this two-room house features a kitchen and bedroom, along with an unfinished porch. After McBride's death, his son Amos used the property for moonshine production before selling it to the United States Bureau of Reclamation in the 1960s. Recognized as the oldest ranch house in Potter County, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975, making it a significant landmark for both tourists and researchers interested in Texas history.
