Telephones Company Building

The Telephones Company Building, or Palatul Telefoanelor, is a stunning Art Deco office building located on Calea Victoriei in Bucharest, Romania. Once the tallest structure in the city, it stands at 52.5 meters and was completed in 1934. The building was commissioned to modernize Romanian telephony during the Great Depression and was designed by architect Edmond Van Saanen Algi. It has survived significant historical events, including World War II bombings and multiple earthquakes. After undergoing extensive renovations from 1997 to 2005, it now serves as a symbol of Bucharest's architectural heritage and is a must-see for visitors interested in the city's history and design.
