Doyle Hardware Building

The Doyle Hardware Building, located at 330 Main St in Utica, New York, is a historic factory complex built between 1881 and 1901, featuring a striking design by architect Frederick H. Gouge. Originally a clothing factory, it transitioned to spark plug manufacturing in 1934 and later became home to the Utica Distributing Company. Recognized for its historical significance, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1993. Efforts to revitalize the building began in 2007 with plans for a restaurant and loft apartments, but faced challenges, including foreclosure in 2013. The surrounding area, including Union Station, is also historically significant, making the Doyle Hardware Building a focal point for local redevelopment efforts.
