Ford Piquette Avenue Plant: Model T development and later museum

The Ford Piquette Avenue Plant is the site where the Ford Motor Company developed and built early cars including the prototype and early production of the Model T in 1908. After Ford moved its main production operations to Highland Park in 1910, the Piquette plant was used by various manufacturers and later experienced decades of vacancy and deterioration. Local preservation efforts restored the building and it reopened as the Ford Piquette Avenue Museum, which opened to the public in 2009.
