Wallace Estill Sr. House

The Wallace Estill Sr. House, also known as the Old Stone House, is a historic home located near Union, Monroe County, West Virginia, built in 1773. This remarkable example of pioneer architecture features stone and frame construction, with dimensions of 20 feet, 6 inches by 25 feet, 6 inches, and includes two stone chimneys serving three fireplaces. The house is notable as the ancestral home of U.S. Senator Chuck Robb, whose family lineage traces back to the original owner, Isaac Estill. Additionally, the house is linked to Captain James Estill, a Revolutionary War militia officer after whom Estill County, Kentucky is named. The Wallace Estill Sr. House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984, making it an intriguing site for both tourists and researchers interested in early American history.
