Seaholm Power Plant redevelopment archaeology

During redevelopment of the Seaholm Power Plant and adjacent block, archaeological investigations identified buried industrial-era features associated with the early 20th-century power plant and rail servicing the site. Reports and city project documents describe foundations, buried utilities, and rail bed remnants uncovered in subsurface testing and excavation prior to redevelopment. Portions of these below-ground industrial remains were recorded as part of the redevelopment's historic resources documentation. The Seaholm complex has been retained and adapted while archaeological documentation was completed.
