Lewis Textile Museum

The Lewis Textile Museum, once a prominent attraction in Blackburn, Lancashire, was established through the generosity of local cotton industrialist Thomas Boys Lewis. Although it closed in 2006, its collection of looms and textile machinery was relocated to the Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery, where it is now featured in the CottonTown gallery, opened in 2007. The museum's closure sparked surprise and concern among locals, especially as plans emerged to repurpose the building into a drugs center, leading to community backlash.
