Dervish Ali's Towers

Dervish Ali's Towers, located in Dukat, Vlorë County, Albania, are a historic complex dating back to the early 19th century. Recognized as a Cultural Monument since 1979, these towers were built by Dervish Aliu, a notable figure in the resistance against Ottoman reforms. The site features a watchtower, a defensive tower, and a main hall adorned with stone pillars and arches, showcasing the architectural style of the time. Visitors can explore the towers, which are situated about 1 km from Dukat, accessible via a walking path. Despite their historical significance, the towers have fallen into disrepair since maintenance ceased in 1991, making them a poignant reminder of Albania's rich heritage and the challenges of preservation.
