Saxony Mill

The Saxony Mill, once a historic textile mill complex in Rockville, Connecticut, was established in 1836 and became one of the oldest surviving wood-frame mills in the state. It featured a distinctive five-story bell tower and consisted of seven interconnected structures. Initially producing satinet, a cost-effective woolen material, the mill underwent various ownerships and expansions until its closure in 1951. A devastating fire in 1994 led to its demolition, and the site is now a public park, offering visitors a glimpse into the region's industrial past.
