West Street Chapel

West Street Chapel, located at 24 West Street in London, is a historic former chapel that served as John Wesley's first Methodist chapel in the West End. Originally built for a Huguenot congregation in 1700, it became a significant site for Methodism when Wesley took a lease in 1743, marking the beginning of his ministry there. The chapel hosted notable figures like George Whitfield and was a center for Anglican worship in the 19th century. Although no longer functioning as a church, it is commemorated with a plaque, and its original pulpit is preserved in a nearby church. The building is recognized as a Grade II listed site, highlighting its architectural and historical importance.
