Memorial Building (Dyersville, Iowa)

The Memorial Building, also known as Dyersville City Hall, is a historic landmark in Dyersville, Iowa, completed in 1929. Originally serving multiple community functions including the police and fire departments, municipal offices, a post office, library, community hall, and gymnasium, it replaced a previous city hall that was damaged by fire. Designed in the Colonial Revival style by the architectural firm Ralston and Ralston, the building was constructed for over $40,000 and is notable for its role as a veteran's memorial overseen by the American Legion. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2013, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in local history and architecture.
