John Bartram's Garden (historic botanical landmark)

John Bartram's Garden, established by botanist John Bartram in 1728, is the oldest surviving botanical garden in North America and is designated a National Historic Landmark. The site preserves Bartram's stone house and historic plant collections along the Schuylkill River and continues to operate as a public garden and horticultural education center. Bartram's Garden has been a center for plant exchange, botanical exploration, and landscape design since the 18th century.
