Rönesans Rezidans

Rönesans Rezidans, located in Ekinci, Antakya, was the first luxury apartment complex in Hatay Province, Turkey, completed in 2012. Designed to accommodate residents in a growing border trade city, it featured 12 floors, 249 dwellings, and various amenities including a pool and gym. Tragically, on February 6, 2023, the building collapsed during the devastating Turkey–Syria earthquake, resulting in significant loss of life, with over 800 people believed to be trapped. The collapse raised questions about the building's foundation and earthquake preparedness, despite it being considered 'earthquake-proof.' The incident has sparked public outrage and calls for thorough investigations into the construction practices and safety measures in place at the time.
