Temple Ohabei Shalom (Brookline, Massachusetts)

Temple Ohabei Shalom, established in 1842, is the oldest Jewish congregation in Massachusetts and the third oldest in New England. Located at 1187 Beacon Street in Brookline, this Reform synagogue features an opulent Byzantine Revival structure completed in 1927, designed to seat 1,800 in its sanctuary. The temple's rich history includes the establishment of its cemetery, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and the development of various educational facilities, including the Diane K. Trust Center For Early Education.
