Spalding Hall

Spalding Hall, located in Bardstown, Kentucky, is a historic building listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Constructed in 1826 and named after Bishop Martin John Spalding, it originally served as the main building for St. Joseph's College, the first Catholic college in Kentucky. After a fire in 1839, it was rebuilt and later functioned as a hospital for Union soldiers during the Civil War. The hall also served as St. Joseph's Preparatory School until 1968. Today, it is home to the Oscar Getz Museum of Whiskey History and the Bardstown Historical Museum, making it a fascinating destination for both tourists and researchers interested in history and culture.
