House of Textiles, Novosibirsk

The House of Textiles, also known as the Textilsindikat Building, is a historic structure located in the heart of Novosibirsk, Russia, at the intersection of Lenin and Sovetskaya streets. Designed by architect Andrey Kryachkov and completed in 1926, the building originally featured a two-story design with a distinctive octahedral tower. Over the years, it has undergone several transformations, including a significant reconstruction in 1930 that expanded it to four stories. The building has served various purposes, including housing fabric shops and the Institute of Military Transport Engineers. Today, the ground floor is vibrant with restaurants and coffee shops, making it a popular spot for both locals and tourists to enjoy the city's culinary scene while appreciating its architectural heritage.
