The High Line elevated park

The High Line is a 1.45-mile elevated linear park built on a former New York Central Railroad spur on Manhattan's West Side. The first section opened in 2009 and the park was extended in phases, including a major extension completed in 2014. The park's design involved James Corner Field Operations with architecture by Diller Scofidio + Renfro and planting design by Piet Oudolf, and it is widely cited as an example of adaptive reuse in urban design.
