Temple of Fides

The Temple of Fides, located on the Capitoline Hill in Rome, was dedicated to the goddess of good faith, a key figure in diplomatic relations. Founded between 254 BC and 250 BC, it was situated near the Temple of Jupiter Optimus Maximus. Archaeological remains, including fragments of columns and a large female marble head, suggest a rich history tied to the temple, with recent discoveries of bilingual inscriptions linking it to treaties between Asia Minor and the Roman Senate.
