Saints Peter and Paul Church (North Beach)

Saints Peter and Paul Church is a Roman Catholic parish on Filbert Street adjacent to Washington Square in North Beach. The current building was constructed after the original church was damaged in the 1906 earthquake and its twin towers and classical façade are prominent neighborhood landmarks. The parish historically served San Francisco's Italian-American community and the church is often nicknamed the "Italian Cathedral of the West."
