Van Cliburn International Piano Competition

Founded in 1962 and named for pianist Van Cliburn after his 1958 international victory, the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition is based in Fort Worth and draws elite young pianists from around the world. The competition’s finals and related concert events are held in Fort Worth venues, including Bass Performance Hall, and it is recognized as one of the world’s major international piano competitions. Laureates of the competition often receive global concert careers and recording opportunities.
