Cabrillo National Monument - Old Point Loma Lighthouse and tidepools

Cabrillo National Monument at the tip of the Point Loma peninsula includes the historic Old Point Loma Lighthouse (the original tower completed in 1855) and protected intertidal tidepools along its western shoreline. The site commemorates the 1542 landing of explorer Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo and contains interpretive exhibits, coastal trails, and viewpoints overlooking San Diego Bay and the Pacific.
