Mar's Wark

Mar's Wark is a historic ruin located in Stirling, Scotland, built between 1570 and 1572 by John Erskine, the Regent of Scotland and Earl of Mar. Intended as the primary residence for the Erskine family, it is situated near the royal Stirling Castle, where Scottish princes were educated. The building features a striking façade with two polygonal towers and intricate stone carvings, reflecting royal architectural styles. Although it was never fully completed, it served various notable figures, including Anne of Denmark. Today, Mar's Wark is a scheduled monument, offering visitors a glimpse into Scotland's noble heritage and architectural history.
