Ethan Allen Homestead

The Ethan Allen Homestead, located in Burlington, Vermont, is a historic house museum built around 1787 by Ethan Allen, a key figure in Vermont's history. As the only surviving residence of Allen in the state, it offers visitors a glimpse into the life of one of Vermont's most significant early public figures. The house is a modest post-and-beam structure with Georgian architectural elements and is set on the scenic floodplain of the Winooski River. Open to the public from May to October, the homestead is part of a park and museum that celebrates Vermont's heritage and Allen's contributions to the state's independence and statehood.
