Klir Beck House

The Klir Beck House, also known as The Gnomes, was a unique historic house located in Vienna, Maine, built in 1927 by artist Klir Beck as a summer residence. This architecturally distinctive structure featured a blend of materials, including a stone foundation and half-timbered brick and stucco, with a gabled roof and ornate wooden balcony reminiscent of Swiss chateaus. The interior boasted artistic details, such as a compass set in stone. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977 but tragically was destroyed by fire in 2000 and was delisted in 2017. Its rich artistic heritage and whimsical design make it a point of interest for tourists and researchers alike.
