Children's Day Hospital

The Children's Day Hospital, located in Vauxhall, London, was a pioneering psychiatric facility for children and their families from 1965 to 1990. Established in a historic neo-Georgian building, it initially served as a nursery and evolved into a specialized outpatient resource under St Thomas' Hospital. The hospital was known for its innovative treatment methods, combining evidence-based practices with the Waldorf education philosophy, focusing on the arts to aid child development. Led by Dr. Eva Frommer, it gained national and international recognition for addressing childhood depression and providing a supportive environment for young patients. Although it closed in 1990, the building now houses the Lambeth Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, continuing its legacy of care in the community.
