Alice Austen's 'Clear Comfort' House Museum

Photographer Alice Austen lived and worked at the house known as Clear Comfort in Staten Island for much of her life; the property at 2 Hylan Boulevard is preserved as the Alice Austen House Museum. The museum holds Austen's photographic prints, glass plate negatives, and personal papers and interprets her work as an important early American woman photographer.
