Anchor Brewing Company (historic Potrero Hill facility)

Anchor Brewing Company was founded in San Francisco in 1896 and is closely associated with the city's 'steam beer' tradition (Anchor Steam). For many decades the brewery's production facility and public tours were located at 1705 Mariposa Street in the Potrero Hill/China Basin area. Anchor became influential in the American craft-brewing movement from the mid-20th century onward and remains a historically significant San Francisco brewery.
