Bunker Hill Monument

The Bunker Hill Monument is a 221-foot granite obelisk erected between 1827 and 1843 to commemorate the 1775 Battle of Bunker Hill. Solomon Willard supervised its design and the quarrying of Quincy granite used in construction. The monument stands at Monument Square in Charlestown and is part of the Boston National Historical Park administered by the National Park Service.
