The William J. Holloway Jr. United States Courthouse in Oklahoma City is a significant example of Modern architecture, designed by architect Dow Gumerson and completed in 1961. This five-story building features a box-like form with minimal adornment, emphasizing high-quality materials and functional interior spaces. It houses the United States District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma and the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Notably, the courthouse withstood the 1995 bombing of the nearby Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building, which resulted in a tragic loss of life. The building is adorned with unique bas-relief sculptures by Bernard Emerson Frazier, depicting themes of unity and destiny. In 2016, it was renamed to honor William Judson Holloway Jr., a former chief judge, making it a site of both historical and architectural interest for visitors and researchers alike.
