Katy Hamman-Stricker Library

The Katy Hamman-Stricker Library, located in Calvert, Texas, is a historic landmark and community center that serves as both a museum and public library. Established in 1909, it was the first chapter house of the American Woman's League in Texas, aimed at promoting women's educational and cultural opportunities. The building features Prairie School architectural style and has been a vital part of the community's social fabric. Designated as a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark, it remains the only AWL chapter house in Texas and continues to be supported by the Calvert Woman's Club.
