Washington National Cathedral

The Cathedral Church of St. Peter and St. Paul (Washington National Cathedral) is a Gothic Revival-style cathedral whose construction began in 1907 and whose completion spanned roughly 83 years, finishing in 1990. Located on a high ridge in northwest Washington, it serves as the seat of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington and is a frequent site for national memorial services and state funerals. The building is noted for its stone carving, stained glass, and large-scale Gothic architectural form.
