Clover Hill (Patterson, North Carolina)

Clover Hill, also known as the Colonel Edmund Jones House, is a historic plantation house located near Patterson in Caldwell County, North Carolina. Built in 1846 by Colonel Edmund W. Jones for his bride, Sonia C. Davenport, this striking two-story, five-bay brick structure showcases Greek Revival architecture. Nestled on a knoll at the foot of the Appalachian Mountains, it features a raised basement, a hipped roof, and a charming shed porch supported by four elegant fluted Ionic columns. The interior boasts classic Greek Revival trim, including Ionic and Doric colonnettes. Recognized for its architectural significance, Clover Hill was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, celebrated for its beautiful Ionic porch and well-crafted interiors, making it a noteworthy destination for tourists and researchers alike.
